8 Women-owned Businesses To Support in Turks & Caicos

Happy International Women's Day from Andaz Turks & Caicos!

We're extremely proud to say that we've got an all-star group of women on our team.

Our marketing department is female-led by Chief Marketing Officer, Aimee Zammit, alongside remote Project Manager (Marketing), Amanda Brown. In our Sales & Construction Offices, we recognize the intelligent efforts of Samara Lightbourne — Human Resource Manager, Samantha Robinson and Aaliyah Penn — Office Assistants, and Paige Zammit — Project Coordinator. We'd be nothing without their dedication & hard work!

In addition to thanking the wonderfully strong-minded women running behind the scenes of Andaz Turks & Caicos, we'd like to highlight the following women-owned and operated businesses for their superb standard and service! In alphabetical order...

1. Atelys Handmade Jewelry

"Atelys is a self-taught jewelry designer originally from the Dominican Republic. Her passion for jewelry led her to start handcrafting her own. After selling a few pieces off her neck, she decided to turn her passion into a part-time job.

Her jewelry is versatile and eclectic in both style and technique.  This is reflected in her pieces which combines a wide range of materials such as Argentium silver, Larimar, semi precious fresh water pearls, sea glass etc. and her use of techniques such as wire wrapping, silk knotting, metal stamping and metal smith work.

Each piece is carefully crafted by her in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, inspired by nature and her Caribbean surroundings. She imagines and anticipates the final result until it is completed, becoming something she loves and would proudly wear herself." -Atelys

Choose your base and add blueberries, kiwi, pineapple, strawberries, bananas, chia seeds and more…and you’ve got a bowl or cup full of beautiful nutritious-ness that tastes like dessert! At Crest & Berry, delicious nutrition is at the top! We aim to serve a filling meal that tastes like a refreshing treat chock full of nutritious health benefits."

5. On Island Coworking Space

A vibrant coworking space in the heart of Grace Bay, connecting the creative minds and entrepreneurs of Turks and Caicos.

"My favorite part about being On Island is seeing its potential to grow, our ability to impact its development, but mostly the entrepreneurial spirit that exists within so many of us. Our home is developing. Our community of remote workers is growing. And our connection amongst each other is fading. On Island began as my quest to create more connection amongst the creative minds in TCI. I hope the space inspires you, nurtures your spirit, and supports your hustles." — Manisha Tolani, Founder

7. Turks Kebab

"Nothing hits the spot like meat and vegetables, right off the spit. At Turks Kebab you'll discover that your favorite Mediterranean classics were meant to mingle with our authentic island side-dishes. It makes for a simple, healthy and incredibly tasty menu, from spicy finger-licking sensations, to very vegan home cooking – there's something for everyone. It all starts with fresh ingredients and quality meats. But it doesn't stop until you've satisfied your hunger, eaten up the simple hospitality and savored a moment with any of the diverse islanders who call this their favorite place to eat. 8. Wildflower Skincare Lab

"We are an award-winning, trademarked Turks & Caicos indie brand with our top of the line in house formulations that we have spent years creating. We specialize in anti-aging, vegan, sustainable and organic products. We grow flowers organically, hand pick, clean and process their extracts on-island in our lab in Grace Bay. We include a locally grown flower extract in every one of our formulas.

In addition to our in-house brand, Wildflower Skincare Lab is a completely custom skincare facility. Our commercially trained and certified organic skincare formulator will meet with you and discuss how we can produce the perfect product for your skins needs. The scent, texture and feel, actives, botanicals, emulsifiers, preservative options... for a first time will be completely in charge of what is in your product. If you want to use ingredients from your own garden we will happily arrange a site visit with you and gently harvest your plants for their extracts.

We manufacture extracts by steam distillation, solar infusion, macerations, enfleurage and glycerite formulation methods. We follow the manufacturing processes by the EU standard which is the highest regulatory body on the planet for skincare manufacturing procedures. We perform in house stability and would like. We hope you enjoy reading about our brand, ethos and products."
