We are delighted to announce Stephen Meredith as the newly appointed General Manager of Andaz Turks & Caicos. With over two decades of global hospitality leadership, Stephen brings a wealth of expertise, having successfully led distinguished luxury properties across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
Renowned for his strategic vision, transformative leadership, and commitment to exceptional guest experiences, Stephen has an impressive track record of elevating world-class hotels, including Dream Doha, Taj Jumeirah Lakes Towers, and Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay. At each, he has revitalized operations, built high-performing teams, and driven profitability, earning industry recognition for his ability to deliver innovation and excellence in a competitive luxury market.
An MBA graduate from UNISA’s School of Business Leadership, Stephen seamlessly blends academic rigor with hands-on leadership, making him a dynamic force in refining operations and enhancing guest experiences. His lifelong passion for food and beverage innovation, coupled with his meticulous attention to detail and calm leadership under pressure, has shaped his reputation as a forward-thinking hospitality expert. He fosters a culture of collaboration, adaptability, and excellence, ensuring teams operate at their highest potential.
Stephen’s appointment underscores Hyatt’s confidence in the transformative vision and potential of Andaz Turks & Caicos as it moves toward its highly anticipated Grand Opening in early 2026. Stephen is set to lead the property into a new era of modern Caribbean luxury. His leadership will play a pivotal role in crafting immersive guest experiences rooted in cultural authenticity, sustainability, and deep community connections. Under his guidance, Andaz Turks & Caicos will redefine contemporary island hospitality, setting a new benchmark for design-forward, meaningful travel experiences.
Glazing has begun!
Construction at Andaz Turks & Caicos is progressing rapidly, with major developments taking shape across the property. In the basement, the Kids Club is nearly finished and will soon welcome artists for mural painting, while windows have been installed in key areas like the staff arrival area and security room. On the ground floor, walls are going up as gypsum boarding begins, and electrical and plumbing installations are well underway. Meanwhile, fine plastering has started, and ceilings are being prepped in the condo units.
Higher up, finishing work is in full swing. Floor tiling is nearly complete on the hotel side and making steady progress in the condo residences. Sprinkler systems, ductwork, and electrical wiring are being installed and enclosed, while balcony details and windows continue to take shape. At the rooftop level, preparations are underway for insulation and waterproofing, followed by a lightweight concrete layer and a three-layer silicone membrane system.
Outside the building, key infrastructure work is progressing. Service conduits along Penn’s Road have been installed, and the loading bay base is ready for its final finishes. Manholes and conduits for incoming utilities are now in place, setting the stage for future power connections. As each milestone is reached, the vision for Andaz Turks & Caicos is coming to life, bringing us one step closer to an extraordinary new destination on Grace Bay Beach.

Turks and Caicos continues to capture global attention as one of the top trending travel destinations of 2024, according to Google’s Year in Search report. Welcoming nearly two million visitors this year, the islands have solidified their reputation as a premier getaway, drawing travelers seeking sun-soaked beaches, crystal-clear waters, and exclusive luxury.
From January to December, Turks and Caicos recorded a total of 1,959,563 visitor arrivals, including both air and cruise passengers. Air arrivals saw a notable 10.66% increase, while cruise arrivals surged by 30.48%, underscoring the islands’ growing appeal.
