On Friday, February 23rd, 2024, Andaz Turks & Caicos hosted a Photography Exhibition and Silent Auction — Rise: Morning Life in Turks and Caicos —  in benefit of the TCI Reef Fund. It was a night filled with artistic brilliance and community spirit, complemented by a special performance from local poet Hollene of Troi.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to all the talented local photographers — Reggie Beckford, JulieAn Musgrove, Romello Williams, LeMens Welch, Satchi Goldsmith-Bowen, and RJ Beckford — for their exceptional contributions. Their remarkable works, showcased and auctioned off during the event, truly captured the essence of morning life in our beautiful islands. Here are their individual galleries for your enjoyment:

LeMens Welch

A native of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands, LeMens discovered his love for photography early on, but it wasn't until 2010 that he made the conscious decision to transform his passion into a career. In the years that followed, he navigated the creative landscape, diligently honing his craft to uncover a distinctive voice and style. Today, his lens captures more than just images; it immortalizes moments transformed into art. Each piece reflects not only technical prowess but a deep connection to the emotions and stories he seeks to convey.

RJ Beckford

Born in the Bahamas and raised in the Turks and Caicos, RJ embodies a life deeply intertwined with the ocean. Transitioning from a steward on Dive live-a-boards to a Dive Instructor, he found his calling beneath the waves. Beyond the professional realm, RJ dedicates a significant portion of his time to volunteering with the Turks and Caicos Reef Fund, showcasing a commitment to marine conservation. His passion extends beyond the depths, as he also nurtures a love for teaching local children scuba diving, creating a harmonious blend of his diverse interests and contributions to his community.

Satchi Goldsmith-Bowen

Satchi Goldsmith-Bowen was born in The Bahamas and raised in Turks and Caicos. Growing up she was immersed in the artist community which allowed her to freely explore her interests in creative expression. While exploring her interests she was gifted a camera by a family friend, and her love for photography blossomed. Her interest falls on finding new perspectives on a variety of subjects creating narratives through pictures. When Satchi is not behind the camera she works as a teacher’s assistant. She often encourages her students to explore the world through the arts. Satchi’s goal is to showcase the unique culture and natural beauty of the Turks and Caicos in its untouched form. Her work reflects people, places, and stories that inspire her.
