Hello Everyone,

We hope you enjoyed a sun-soaked summer and are ready to ease into September! August marked a significant milestone for Andaz Turks & Caicos as we celebrated the 100% completion of our structural framework and roof. In this edition, we’ll provide updates on the latest on-site progress, spotlight the prime real estate still available, and share a heartwarming recap of our recent environmental initiatives for youth.

Thank you for your continued support!

Best regards,

Pool Deck Underway

We’re thrilled to share the latest progress on-site at Andaz Turks & Caicos. On August 14th, just 10 months after breaking ground on Grace Bay Beach, we celebrated the building’s structural completion. This remarkable accomplishment would not have been possible without the impressive dedication and expertise of our construction partner, BYD TCI Construction.

Since this key milestone, our beachfront and ground-floor private pools are now actively taking shape. As construction also begins to move inside, our team will be focusing on partitions, electrical systems, plumbing, and more.

Eco-Explorers Journalism Youth Camp

This summer, Andaz Turks & Caicos proudly sponsored the Eco-Explorers Journalism Youth Camp, led by award-winning Environmental Journalist Teresa Tomassoni, Amy Avenant of the DECR, and Marine Biologist Katharine Hart.

Throughout the adventure-filled week, students had the opportunity to explore the Turks and Caicos Reef Fund (TCRF) facility for a Coral Farm Tour and Snorkeling Exploration at the Bight Reef, out front of Andaz Turks & Caicos.

Executive Director Alizée Zimmermann and her team warmly welcomed the students, many of whom experienced live coral, urchins, and crabs for the first time. During the mangrove ecology tour and facility tour, students learned about the critical role of conservation science and the career opportunities within TCI’s thriving blue economy.

TCRF’s Coral Bio Bank currently houses colonies of all ten of its target species, offering renewed hope for coral reef restoration. The facility currently safeguards over 150 colonies of the most vulnerable coral species.

As a founding member of TCRF’s Reef Keeper Conservation Partner program, Andaz Turks & Caicos remains committed to investing in the community, with a strong emphasis on education, sustainability, and ecological preservation.

Alizée Zimmermann

Executive Director, Turks and Caicos Reef Fund

Alizée Zimmermann was born in Grand Turk and raised on Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos Islands. Her deep connection to the ocean began early, as she grew up on the water, fostering a passionate love for the marine environment of the TCI. In fact, Alizée could swim before she could walk, and she formed a unique bond with Jojo the dolphin, who was her childhood companion.

Certified as a diver at the earliest possible age (12 years old for PADI Jr. Open Water Dive at the time), Alizée spent countless hours exploring the coral reefs around Providenciales. By the age of thirteen, she was part of the islands’ first Junior National Park Program, where her dedication to conservation began to take shape. As a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, Alizée has worked on various dive boats, including the renowned Aggressor Liveaboard.

Alizée’s commitment to marine conservation led her to volunteer with the Turks & Caicos Reef Fund for two years before being appointed as the organization’s first full-time Executive Director in 2021.

The team at Andaz Turks & Caicos worked closely with Alizée to launch the non-profit’s Reef Keeper Conservation Partnership Program in 2023 — a tiered certification initiative that allows businesses of all sizes to actively contribute to conservation efforts, ensuring the sustainability of TCI's natural environment.
